According to Environment Canada weather conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds across the region today.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected early this afternoon and evening across Southern Ontario, bringing with them dime sized hail, frequent lightning, and wind gusts up to 70 km/h.

Environment Canada says funnel clouds may also make a brief appearance this afternoon. The weak rotation is normally not dangerous near the ground, but there is a chance the rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.
