Driver charged after parent, child struck by vehicle

Provincial police are appealing to witnesses to a collision involving a parent and young child in Caledon on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the two were struck by a vehicle just before 7 p.m. at Kennedy Road and Dougall Avenue in the community of Southfields Village.

Police say both were taken to the hospital for treatment of what are described as non-life-threatening or life-altering injuries.

A 21-year-old Caledon resident has been charged with dangerous driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court next month.

Police encourage anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
