The CPKC Holiday Train has cancelled its Springwater stop due to heightened safety concerns for the event.

According to the town of Springwater CPKC, Township staff, the OPP, and fire emergency services have become aware of heightened safety concerns and as a result have mutually agreed to remove the Springwater stop.

The Town says the decision will provide ample time for the team to work with CPKC in finding a safer and more suitable location for the 2025 event.

For those wishing to experience the Holiday Train in 2024, the Town says those wanting to attend the holiday train experience can visit Vaughan at 11 a.m. or MacTier at 3 p.m. on November 30.

Those attending encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Food Bank collection as CPKC has committed to continue to financially support the Barrie and Elmvale Food Banks this year.
