The riding of York-Simcoe has once again gone Conservative.

CTV News has declared Conservative Peter Van Loan the winner of the riding on Monday night. Van Loan defeated three other candidates, including Liberal Shaun Tanaka and NDP Sylvia Gerl.

Van Loan was the Government Leader in the House before Parliament dissolved. Van Loan has been the MP for York-Simcoe since 2004.

The riding has shrunk since 2011, losing the Town of Innisfil to the riding of Barrie-Innisfil.
