The riding of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock has a new Member of Parliament, but is staying Conservative blue.
Jamie Schmale was declared the winner of the riding by CTV News on Monday night. Schmale defeated three other candidates, including Liberal David Marquis and the NDP’s Mike Perry.
Schmale replaces long-time MP Barry Devolin, who held the riding for the Conservatives since 2004. Devolin decided he wouldn’t seek re-election this year.
Schmale is a former radio journalist. He also served as Devolin’s campaign manager through four elections.
