Bird walk offers chance to spot fall migrants with expert guide

Bird enthusiasts and nature lovers are invited to join ideaLab and Library's Bird Walk through Centennial Park in Innisfil on Sat., Sept. 28.
The two-hour walk will be led by birding expert Kevin Shackleton and promises a chance to spot some fall migrant birds.
Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at Centennial Park on the 7th Line.

Shackleton has discovered more than 1,200 species of birds during his travels across Ontario.
In 2012, Shackleton identified 301 species. He has participated in the Great Canadian Birdathon for the past three decades, raising significant funds for conservation efforts.
He was also president of the West Humber Naturalists and vice president of Ontario Nature.
Participants are encouraged to download the Merlin Bird ID app on their smartphones before the walk. The app will help users identify birds.
The event is free, but registration is required.
