A house fire in Beeton is being treated as arson.
According to provincial police, the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has determined a house fire on Kate Aitken Crescent to be suspicious in nature. An arrest has not yet been made.
Firefighters were contacted after heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home on Thursday, just before 6 p.m.
Fire crews took an aggressive exterior attack in an attempt to get control of the flames. Investigators are still looking for a point of origin, but say damage is estimated at $150,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
