A 62-year-old Bracebridge man faces an impaired driving charge after an officer on patrol in the town noticed an ATV with safety equipment missing.

Police say the officer stopped the ATV near Frederick Street on Tuesday afternoon and suspected the rider was intoxicated.

He was arrested and charged with having a blood alcohol concentration higher than the legal limit following the investigation.

“Impaired driving continues to be a significant factor affecting the safety of everyone travelling on Muskoka roads and trails,” OPP stated in a release. “If you suspect that someone is driving while under the influence of any substance, please call 911.”

The accused will have to answer to the charge in court next month.
