$47K in drugs seized, man arrested in alleged domestic assault
Police in Owen Sound made one arrest and seized a ‘large’ quantity of multiple drugs after responding to an alleged domestic assault on Saturday.
According to the Owen Sound Police Service, officers responded to a domestic assault incident on Saturday at a residence in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue East.

Police say a search warrant for the residence had been sought and obtained as part of the investigation. Responding officers and members of the Criminal Investigations Branch executed the search warrant and reportedly seized fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.
The amount of fentanyl seized equates to more than 2,000 individual doses, and the total street value of the illicit drugs is estimated at $47,000 according to police.
The 47-year-old Owen Sound man who was arrested was charged with more than a dozen offences. The charges included (but were not limited to) robbery with violence, three counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, sexual assault, three counts of possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and property possession obtained by crime.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was scheduled for Sunday.
