While Boxing Day is known for securing the best deals, one local shopper took things too far and allegedly tried to score a deal at a free cost.

On Thursday, shorty before 5 p.m. officers responded to a report of an alleged shoplifting incident that occurred at an LCBO store in Bolton.

Police say they were given the exact description of a vehicle that the suspect left in—allowing police to track the man down quickly.

When members of the Caledon OPP found the suspect, they arrested him and began an investigation.

The investigation revealed that the accused man was reportedly in possession of a stolen vehicle.

As a result, a 39-year-old was charged with theft under $5,000 for two counts of shoplifting, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of an identify document and possession of a credit card along with a handful of other charges.

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
