York Regional Police (YRP) held their 4th annual Remembrance Day ceremony Friday morning.

The ceremony was held at the District 3 headquarters in Georgina.

YRP Chief Eric Jolliffe attended the service to honour the great sacrifice and dedicated service of our veterans and current soldiers.

“The freedom that we enjoy today as Canadians is a direct result of the selfless sacrifice of our veterans during two world wars, the Korean war and those who have served in Afghanistan,” said Chief Jolliffe in a release.

The public is also invited to visit the YRP Remembrance Project at www.yrp.ca to read some true-life experiences from war veterans and view their medals and old photos.
