They were running for a good cause in Muskoka today.
The 10th annual Muskoka Rocks Road Race went in support of Camp Oochigeas. The race has already raised more than $450,000 for the camp, and is on track to reach $500,000 with this year’s event.
Lynn Keane says she and co-race-director Laurel Brooks came up with the idea on a long run together. The road race hosts all levels of runners and walk participants in various walks and runs. Today's races featured sunny skies and cool weather - perfect for runners. Runners ranged in age from two to over 70 years old.
Brad May, a former NHLer and a race ambassador, spoke of the importance of Camp Oochigeas - a place for kids with cancer to enjoy camp. The race hosted 600 participants.
