A stretch of Highway 400 through Barrie has reopened after a tractor trailer overturned on Friday night.

The crash happened, at around 9 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway, north of Duckworth Street. Police say the tractor trailer came to a rest in the middle of the north and southbound lanes.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says there were no serious injuries, but there was significant damage to the guard rail.

The highway was closed for more than 11 hours, while crews removed debris and repaired the guard rail. It's still not known what caused the transport to overturn.

The highway reopened just before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
