Barrie Colts forward Kevin Labanc was officially crowned the 2015-2016 Ontario Hockey League scoring champion.

The San Jose Sharks prospect has won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy along with the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the league’s top scoring right winger.

Labanc scored 39 goals and 88 assists for 127 points in 65 games to lead all OHL players. The right-winger also set a franchise single season points record.

He recorded 42 multi-point games during the 2015-16 campaign and surpassed his own Colts record for assists in a season.

The 20-year-old from Staten Island, New York, is just the second Colts player to win both awards. Sheldon Keefe did so in 1999-2000 and previously held the franchise single season scoring mark with 121 points in 66 games.
