Five cows are dead after a barn fire in Clearview Township early Thursday morning.
The fire happened just before 6 a.m. at a farm on County Rd. 124 near the 27/28 Nottawasaga Side Road.
The top of the two storey barn was full of hay and about 70 animas were inside but fire crews say most of the animals did get out on their own.
The fire spread quickly and the roof was already collapsing in on the barn when firefighters arrived. High winds made fighting the fire difficult but fortunately they were blowing the fire away from a nearby farm house.
The barn was destroyed and firefighters say that will make it hard to tell how this fire started. No word on a damage amount.
