Wasaga Beach boy attempting world record on an ATV

Jackson Fuller, 13, of Wasaga Beach, Ont., will attempt to set a Guinness World Record on Oct. 12, 2024, for most miles on an ATV for a youth over a 24 hour period.

While most 13-year-olds are gearing up for another day at school, Jackson Fuller of Wasaga Beach is preparing for something far more extreme: setting a world record on an ATV.

Jackson plans to try and break a Guinness World Record for the most miles ridden by a youth on an ATV in 24 hours.

His attempt will happen at Orillia's' ODAS Park Fairgrounds on October 12.

And while this may sound like a wild dream for many kids his age, Jackson has been taking the challenge seriously.

He says his friends have been helping him prepare for the big day.

But how exactly does one prepare for such a demanding feat?

According to Jackson, it's all about getting the right kind of training.

"Well, I gotta do a lot of grip training so I can grip onto these handlebars nicely," said Jackson. "And a lot of arm training, and the day before or just like the week or two before the event, you just get lots of sleep."

Beyond his personal goals, Jackson is using his world record attempt as a way to give back.

He's asking anyone who comes out to support him in Orillia next month to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food bank.
