A man from Victoria Harbour known for his volunteer work in the community was surprised with a very special gift this morning.

Ray Carriere was given a brand new home after the community got together to raise $43,000 and re-build the senior’s house.

Carriere is disabled and his old home was deemed unsafe. The generosity of his neighbours left him nearly speechless.

The home had been under renovation for about three weeks and is now wheelchair accessible. Everything inside, from the furniture to the new appliances, was donated.
