Unlocked car aids credit card theft

Police are reminding drivers to lock their cars after an incident in Midland late last week.
A parked car on Aberdeen Boulevard was easily entered, and a few credit cards from a wallet in the car went missing.

The owner of the car notified police when financial institutions called regarding unauthorized transactions in excess of $500.
Provincial police were able to determine who the suspect was and arrested him on Sunday.
A 34-year-old Tay Township man was charged with: two counts of using a credit card, fraud under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance.
The accused has been released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 6.
Anyone having knowledge of drug or property related crimes is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous.
