Unique 3-day music festival in Cookstown features 45 bands
The Gussapolooza festival in Cookstown is a salute to summer that features bands from across North America, Sweden and Mexico.
The three-day festival at the Georgian Bay Steamshow Grounds promises 45 bands on four stages, an art fair, a film contest and weekend camping.
"What we hear all the time about Gussapolooza is that it's like to going back to Woodstock. You come out, and it's a big family. We have people come alone, and they make 20 new friends that they didn't know, and they end up staying the whole weekend cause they didn't know what to expect," said event organizer Valerie Robson.
Parking is free outside the gate.
The family-friendly festival is open to all ages. Kids under 12 accompanied by an adult with an event pass are free.
Tickets are available for purchase at the gate or online. Gate sales are cash only and subject to a price increase.
Gussapolooza kicks off on Sept. 13 and wraps up on Sept. 15.
