Two hospitalized after collision involving pickup truck and motorcycle

Police are investigating what caused a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Kawartha Lakes that sent two people to the hospital.

Emergency services were called to Highway 7 east of Bridle Road shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday.

Both the pickup truck driver and the motorcyclist were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police say the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, while the other driver’s injuries were described as minor.

Officers closed the area between Bridle Road and Angeline Street for several hours for the reconstruction team to probe what may have happened.

The identities of those involved were not released. There is no word on any charges as the investigation is ongoing.

Police encourage anyone who witnessed or has dash camera footage of the collision to reach out to the OPP.
