A truck fire on Highway 400 caused major traffic delays for hours on Friday.
Police say a dump truck loaded with gravel was traveling southbound on the 400 when a fire started in the front of the vehicle.
The truck got onto the shoulder of the road and then it became fully engulfed in flames, causing thick black smoke. As a result, all northbound and southbound lanes between Aurora Road and King Road were shut down.
The male driver was transported by ambulance with minor injuries. Two officers from the Aurora OPP Detachment were also taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
All the northbound lanes were reopened at 12:20 p.m and all southbound lanes up opened up shortly after 6 p.m..
