Shelly, 78, his daughter Ruth, and granddaughter Eliana took the leap, marking a family moment that spanned decades.
"This experience today is definitely magnitude," said Shelly. "With my granddaughter and my daughter, the three generations—we jumped together, one after the other. What an experience."
For Ruth, the decision to do the tandem jump came after her 18-year-old niece Eliana suggested they experience it together.Eliana Elnekave, 18, lands her first skydiving adventure in Cookstown, Ont., on Thurs., Sept. 5, 2024. (CTV News/Steve Mansbridge)
"She knows I've done it, so she said, 'Auntie Ruthie, will you do it with me?' And my father overheard us, and he's like, 'I'm joining," Ruth said.
The trio, all exactly 30 years apart in age, attended the Toronto Skydive Club in Cookstown late Thursday morning under perfect weather conditions.
"The sky was so clear. We were just flying like birds," Shelly said after the jump.

It's something the three said they won't soon forget.
"Once in a lifetime experience. I would say to anyone who is on the fence, you got to do it, for sure," Ruth concluded.
