The Simcoe County Museum opened its doors this weekend as it hosted the Quilt, Rug and Artisan Fair.

The event was not just a showcase of local craftsmanship, but also an educational experience. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Simcoe County through the art pieces on display.

The event was a vibrant celebration of art, featuring a diverse range of art forms including pottery, embroidery, rug hooking, and quilting.

"One of our missions is to share the story of Simcoe County, and when you look at these quilts, they are sharing the story of these quilts and the story of their past and show what happened here in Simcoe County," said Meredith Patterson, Event Coordinator of the Simcoe County Museum.

The event also featured an onsite market, allowing visitors to purchase one-of-a-kind items.

The three-day event concluded on Sunday evening, with organizers announcing their plans to bring the fair back in 2025.
