To tackle speeding throughout Bradford West Gwillimbury, the town's new speed camera program officially began on Sunday.

The activation comes after the town began its 90-day test period throughout the town.

The program enhances safety in community zones, particularly around schools.

According to the town, four devices set up at sites throughout the town use a camera to detect speed and capture the image of a vehicle's license plate if speeding.

Once the image is captured, the driver will receive a notification of the speeding violation in the mail.

As of Sunday, the speed enforcement cameras in Bradford West Gwillimbury are now operational.
