Second-storey bedroom fire causes $100K in damage
A homeowner called emergency services when a second story room caught fire.
Three New Tecumseth fire stations responded to the house fire on 3 Line south of Tottenham shortly after 4:30 p.m.
When they arrived, a room on the second floor was sending smoke out into the late afternoon air.
New Tecumseth Fire Chief Dan Heydon said there were no injuries reported.
“The fire was contained to the room of origin,” said Heydon.
OPP Const. Brandon Oks said the fire is believed to have been started by an “electrical-related incident.”
“It’s been deemed non-suspicious,” he said, but added, “There is roughly $100,000 from water and smoke damage.”
