Public library hosts fundraiser this holiday season
The Orillia Public Library is hosting its festive campaign to raise money for library programming with the holidays approaching.
The Choose Your Own donation campaign allows community members to decide which department and program in the library they would like to support.
"Libraries serve the whole community. Donating to the library is a wonderful way to give back to the community. We see all walks of life. It is one of the last free places for community members to come in and not be expected to pay, to just be here to interact with others. It's a true community hub," said Meagan Wilkinson, CEO, Orillia Public Library.
Those wanting to donate can choose between children and adults programming, the library makerspace, social worker initiatives, or the library's most urgent needs.
Those who donate more than $300 could receive a library shirt.
"If that is something that really resonates with you, supporting libraries is a great Christmas gift this year," said Wilkinson.
Those hoping to donate can contact the Orillia Library directly or visit the website.
