Police and K9 Unit unsuccessful in catching man suspected of hit and run

Barrie police are on the hunt for a man suspected of fleeing from a crash in Barrie’s north end on Wednesday.

According to police, the crash happened after 2:00 p.m. when a driver crashed into another vehicle that was stopped waiting for a pedestrian at Bell Farm Road and Alliance Boulevard.

Police say the driver fled and a canine track was unsuccessful in finding the driver.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 30’s with dreadlocks and wearing a white t-shirt.

Anyone with dashcam footage, or any businesses with surveillance video is encouraged to call Barrie Police.
