A barn has been destroyed and two pigs have died following a fire north of Creemore on Sunday afternoon.

Clearview fire received the call around 1:00 p.m. for the blaze on ConcessionRoad  5. Firefighters from three other towns also responded to provide mutual aid and to ship in water from Creemore.

Although the barn was filed with hay, two pigs died in the fire.

Fire Chief Colin Shewell tells CTV News a high hoe is being brought in to move metal debris to get to the source of the fire.

Shewell says the cause has been deemed accidental as it was started while someone was refueling a gas generator at the farm.Damage is estimated at $260,000.

Crews will remain on scene battling the blaze for several more hours.
