Share

The public library is downtown Barrie is closed due to construction in the lobby entrance, but users still have access to some services with an Express Pick-Up Window.

“We know how important library services are to our community so there’s never a great time to close,” said Christopher Vanderkruys, director of corporate services.

The pick-up window is located on the Owen Street side of the building beside the book return slot.

Library card holders can request items, pickup holds and mystery grab bags, and print up to 10 pages at no charge.

Returns are still accepted 24/7 at the outdoor return slot, and online services remain intact despite the library closure.

Library officials hope to reopen on Friday.

"We are looking forward to the resolution of this project that will extend the life of this beautiful space," concluded Vanderkruys.
