Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Barrie

One man is in hospital with life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Barrie early Sunday morning.

According to Barrie police it happened just before 1 a.m. at 20^th side road and Big Bay point road. A twenty-one year-old Innisfil man was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with life threatening injuries. When he arrived he was immediately sent to a Toronto-area hospital where he remains, in serious condition.

The seventy-two year-old driver was not physically injured. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
