A 43-year-old man from Oro Station was killed in a two vehicle crash on Highway 400 on Friday afternoon.

It happened around 4:30 p.m.near the Dunlop St. on-ramp onto Hwy. 400 in Barrie.

Police say a motorcycle, with two onboard, was merging onto the highway when it lost control and collided with a SUV.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until family are notified. A 42-year-old woman, who was also on the motorcycle, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nobody in the SUV was injured.

The northbound lanes of Hwy. 400 at Dunlop Street, as well as two southbound lanes of Hwy. 400 near the collision scene were closed for the investigation. All lanes reopened just before 8:00 p.m.
