Orillia Fire Chief retires after nearly 30 years

It was the end of an in Orillia for one man who was tasked with keeping his city safe for nearly three decades.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, Capt. Glenn Higgins officially hung up his hat as a captain with Orillia Fire and Emergency Services.

Higgins has been a familiar firefighting face in the Sunshine City for 29 years, with about half of that in the role of captain.

Higgins was sent off by a gathering of his colleagues one last time.
