Orangeville swore in its 23rd Chief of Police on Wednesday.
Wayne Kalinski was sworn in by Justice Bruce Pugsleyat a ceremony that took place at the Country of Dufferin Courthouse.
Kalinski promised to serve his new role with professionalism, compassion and accountability.
“I will continue to reach out to Orangeville residents. My accessibility and visibility in the community are key to my success,” said the Kalinski in a release on Wednesday.
Although the swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday, the Orangeville Police Services Board appointed Kalinski to the position on November 14, 2014 - replacing retired Chief of Police Joseph Tomei.
Kalinski is no newcomer to the police service, he spent 32 years with the York Regional Police Service and joined the Orangeville Police as Deputy Chief in 2011.
