Ontario Election Roundup: The Candidates vying to represent local ridings
Campaigning is underway for the June 2 provincial election, with several familiar faces vying for a seat at Queen's Park.
York University's visiting professor of politics, Michael Johns, said there are a couple of interesting ridings to watch.
He mentioned the riding of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte, where Ontario's Attorney General is up against the longtime mayor of Barrie.
"That's the one where personality might be more in play. Name recognition is more in play."
Johns noted most of the ridings in the region are "heavily Conservative."
"But, we have seen in the past if the Progressive Conservatives vote collapses, other votes can win."
