A monument honouring Canadians who received the Victoria Cross was being put up Friday along Barrie’s waterfront and will soon be given royal treatment
The monument arrived in three pieces and was assembled on site on Friday. It’s nearly three metres high and will be dedicated by Princess Anne when she visits Barrie on Tuesday October 22nd.
The Princess Royal is coming to Barrie as Colonel-in-chief to visit the Grey and Simcoe Foresters. She will be reviewing a Royal Guard of Honour during the dedication ceremony at Barrie’s Military Heritage Park. She will then attend a reception at the Southshore Community Centre.
On Wednesday October 23rd Princess Anne will meeting troops at CFB Borden with the Canadian Forces Health Services Training Centre.
