Muskoka man arrested after police investigation that forced road closure for several hours
Provincial police arrested a man after a dispute and alleged assault at a home in Muskoka Lakes Township Monday evening that resulted in a lengthy road closure.
Police were called to the home on Doherty Road around 7 p.m. and learned the accused had gone to an outbuilding on the property following the alleged assault.

Authorities say his family had expressed concerned for his well-being after he made reference a firearm.
Police closed Doherty Road in the area of Windemere Road/County Road 4 while officers, including the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team, attempted to take the man into custody.
The 48-year-old man faces charges of assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
Police were able to reopen Doherty Road and clear the area several hours later, around 2:30 a.m.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges next month.
