A man has been charged with internet luring after police say a missing 16-year-old Bracebridge girl was found in a rooming house in Fort Erie.

An investigation was launched by provincial police after they were notified about the missing teenager on May 25. OPP say their investigation showed that the girl was communicating online with an unknown male over social media.

Two days later, police in the Niagara Region located the missing girl at a rooming house. The teen was not harmed and was reunited with her family.

On June 2, police arrested and charged a 46-year-old Fort Erie man with two counts of internet luring, two counts of sending sexually explicit material to a minor, one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of sexual assault.

Two computers were seized, as well as other items which will be reviewed as part of the investigation.

Police say the accused used the alias “Blake Winters” online and are asking anyone with further information to contact the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit or Crime Stoppers.
