Midland house fire causes significant damage

Share

A house in Midland sustained considerable damage after a fire broke out early Monday morning.

Crews arrived to find flames in the attic of the two-storey detached home on Lindsay Street.

Officials say the attic area and the bedrooms located at the back of the house on the second floor were heavily damaged.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The road was closed between Bay Street and Barnett Avenue for roughly two hours for crews to work.

No injuries were reported.

Fire Chief Richard Renaud told CTV News the structure's stability would need to be assessed by the building department.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
