A local author is helping children and parents navigate life's challenges together through a series of animated children's books addressing sensitive issues.

Tricia Khan, a mother of two, has written several books aimed at tackling the mental health obstacles children face in their daily lives.

She draws inspiration from her own experiences as a parent, hearing firsthand the challenges and questions kids encounter in school, among friends, and on social media.

Khan emphasizes empowering children to face their issues head-on.

"Give the children the opportunity to solve their problems, to release themselves from all the barriers that they are feeling, and to find the right activity, to get into the right mindset to say, 'Hey, I can do this. I can make a difference. I'm in charge of myself,'" she said.

Her books, including 'The Fear In Me,' Trouble Is Not Cool,' and 'It's My Hair, I Don't Care,' are available for purchase online.
