Local baker designs 11 cakes in honour of Taylor Swift's Toronto tour
One local baker turned her inspiration for her favourite music artist into something sweet and delicious.
After nearly 30 pounds of butter and 90 cups of sugar, Sophie Rennie the owner of Sweet & Sassie Bake Shop in Barrie baked and decorated 11 cakes in honour of Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour in Toronto.

The idea sparked after Sophie was unable to get her hands on any tickets. So instead, she decided to turn her love for the singer-songwriter into something almost as neat as attending the three-hour long show.
Rennie baked a variety of different style cakes in all colours of the rainbow. She said the process took her nearly two days to complete.
Her baking endeavours included, baking the cakes, icing them and decorating each of her creations to reflect a certain time and style of music across Taylor’s 10 studio albums.

When the cakes were finished, Sophie took her work to social media to show all the local fans her delicious treats.
Hard work pays off...after her baking extravaganza, Sophie managed to secure tickets to one of the Toronto shows.

“On October 26 is when I created this whole Taylor Swift At Home Eras Tour Cake setup, crossing my fingers I’d get tickets to her show. Ever since, I’ve been checking Ticketmaster daily. Then last Tuesday, I happened to check at just the right moment - they released a few tickets.” Sophie Rennie shared.
Rennie texted her sister in complete excitement and rocked it out at the concert on Saturday night.
All of Sophie's Era's themed cakes were donated to The Busby Centre in Barrie.
