Loaded semi-automatic gun, drugs found in parked vehicle in Barrie, Brampton man arrested
Barrie police officers say concern for a passenger in a parked vehicle turned into an arrest, drug charges and the seizure of a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol.
Police say the officers were on patrol in the early morning hours on Wednesday when they noticed a vehicle on Rose Street, east of St. Vincent Street, and two males walking away from it.

The officers spoke with the duo then went to check the vehicle and saw what they thought was a man in medical distress in the backseat.
When the passenger didn’t respond to the officers, they gained entry to the vehicle and say they discovered he was attempting to hide several drugs and the weapon.
The passenger, a 37-year-old from Brampton, was arrested and charged with several weapons and drug-related offences.
Police seized the vehicle as part of the investigation and say warrants for the arrest of the two individuals who walked away from it are pending.
