There were a lot of ways to celebrate Family Day today, but for one family from Keswick the celebration will last much longer than a day.

Tracy Hulton and Jerry Deschamps now have a family that’s just a little bigger after the birth of their second child.

“We weren't sure if it was a girl or boy,” says Hulton. “Really exciting that it’s a little girl.”

She was born at 11:15 a.m. today at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, weighing seven pounds and 10 ounces. She’s the couple’s second daughter.

“It's a little more calming than the first time around,” says Deschamps with a laugh.

The little bundle of joy was originally due on Valentine’s Day, but decided to wait until Family Day to enter the world – much to the delight of mom.

“I spent so much energy not wanting to have her on Valentine’s Day,” she says. “So I think it’s fantastic.”

Three-and-a-half-year-old Jessie is excited to be a big sister and is ready for the job. She already has an idea of what she’ll be teaching her new little sister.

“I'm going to teach her how to jump,” she says.

“She's going to be extremely helpful for me and her mom, and is going to have lots of fun with her little sister,” Deschamps says.

But before there is any jumping around, the newborn needs a name. The couple is still deciding and has received plenty of suggestions from family and friends. Big sis Jessie is helping too and has one name in mind: “Sushi.”

Hulton and Deschamps say their family is now complete and are looking forward to introducing their new baby girl to the rest of the family and getting some more input on what her name should be.
