International Plowing Match will hold an Opening Day Parade

The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo will kick-off in style on Tuesday.

The “Kick off for Keith” ceremony will start at the Essa Agriplex on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Olympic Gold Medallist Jennifer Jones will present Keith Robinson with a gold medal for 65 years of plowing at the IPM.

The parade will end at the main stage where the Opening Day Ceremonies will start at noon.

The IPM runs from September 16^th – 20^th and between 80 and 100 thousand people are expected to attend.

People attending the IPM can expect to see a traditional barn raising, a lumberjack show, tractor events, a dog show, historic displays and demonstrations, as well as hundreds of exhibitors and vendors.

The plowing match was last held in Essa Township in 1997.
