Human remains found in the Simcoe County forest near Midhurst

Provincial police are investigating after human remains were located in the Simcoe County forest, near Midhurst.

According to the OPP, a person walking a dog through a section of the forest in the Hillview Crescent and Gill Road area made the discovery on Wednesday afternoon.

Police have cordoned off the area, while the investigation continues.

A post-mortem has been ordered. The autopsy is scheduled to take place in Toronto on Friday.

The remains have not yet been identified and police have not said whether foul play is suspected.
