Gas prices are the lowest they’ve been in years in parts of the region… and drivers are loving it.

On Tuesday in Alliston, a number of different stations were charging just over 90 cents for a litre of regular.

One station was even charging 89.7 cents – shown in a picture captured on Twitter early this morning.

Drivers are enjoying the early and continued Christmas present at the pumps.

Tony Robinson from Newmarket was ecstatic to see the low prices.

“It’s actually exciting to put gas in your tank for less than a dollar,” he said.

Rick Mondry, on the other hand, thinks the prices should be even lower.

“I know it does cost to produce the gas, but oil is almost half of what it used to be per barrel and gas has only come down 35 cents…which is not that much compared to the price of oil.”
