Police responded to a call from a residential job site shortly after 7 a.m. Friday.

Police heard a white 2021 MT100 Bobcat mini-track loader had been taken from the road in front of a home located on Monarchy Crescent.

The loader was equipped with a large bucket on the front that had ‘HR’ painted on it.

From video surveillance in the area, police were able to determine the theft occurred between 4:35 a.m. and 5:02 a.m. and that a black sport utility vehicle towing a double axle flatbed trailer was involved.

A canvass of the immediate area was conducted and police will be revisiting the area to determine if additional video surveillance footage is available to assist in the investigation.

Barrie Police is reminding business owners to always ensure any equipment being left overnight is secured in a manner so that it cannot be stolen.

Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact Const. Andrew Dunkley by email.
