Series of smash-and-grab break-ins in Angus under investigation

Police rushed to a break and enter in progress at the Ultramar gas station and Uplift Cannabis stores in Angus just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspects had fled before the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrived.

Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown suspects – believed to be two men – attended the address and smashed both front doors.

The two suspects were seen by a nearby witness smashing the door of the nail salon Yes Nails located at 223 Mill Street.

At this time the OPP K9 unit was deployed but was unsuccessful in locating the men.

Police determined that the NAPA Autopro located at 209 Mill Street had also been broken into.

Police describe the first man was wearing a grey hoodie, black jacket, blue jeans, black Nike shoes and holding a red backpack. The second man was wearing a grey hoodie, olive jacket, holding a backpack.

Investigations are still ongoing and it is unknown at this time if anything was stolen. Police are asking residents to review their camera footage or dash cam for any suspicious activity that may be helpful in this investigation between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday.
