Police quickly arrested a man accused of an armed robbery at a business in Collingwood over the weekend, where the firearm was later found to be a replica.

Provincial police say a suspect produced what was thought to be a firearm and had the employee open the cash register Sunday night.

"The employee complied, and the suspect eventually left the business with an undisclosed amount of money," the OPP stated in a release.

Police say they made an arrest within 90 minutes and believe the firearm was a BB gun.

A 44-year-old local man is charged with weapons-related offences.

Police say the employee was not physically injured.
