Fire burns newly-built home
An early Sunday morning fire in Colgan that caused significant damage is under investigation.
At around 2:30 a.m., the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department (ATFD) responded to a fire at a newly constructed home on Marigold Boulevard. ATFD officials say there was heavy black smoke and working fires burning on both levels. The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The fire was quickly brought under control with the help of New Tecumseth Fire and Emergency Services but caused approximately $2-million in damage.
26 firefighters and nine apparatuses from the ATFD, an aerial apparatus from New Tecumseth, OPP, and County of Simcoe Paramedics all responded to the scene.
The fire continues to be investigated by Nottawasaga OPP.
