Fatal head-on collision in Cookstown

A woman is dead after a head-on collision between an SUV and a tractor trailer.
The crash took place on Highway 89 west of the 9th Line near Cookstown shortly after 8:30 Thursday night.
The woman was extricated by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed Highway 89 between the 8th and 9th lines at around 9 p.m., and it was re-opened shortly after 3 a.m.
This is an ongoing investigation. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
